Navigate to and edit item

hi all,

scenario is:

form 1 - template sharepoint form for new entries

form 2 - shows a "gallery" list of items with an "OPEN" status (each have a unique "ID" field)

on the side of the items on the gallery is a blue link arrow my intention is to have that link to form 1 in edit mode but for that specific item.

for example i want to edit item 8 so i click the blue arrow next to Item 8 and it opens the item in edit mode within powerapps.

at the moment i've got it working to link to Sharepoint via (Launch(LookUp(PApps,ID = ThisItem.ID, '{Link}'))) but i'd rather keep it all insular for a more clean experience.

can anyone advise of how i can hook this sort of thing up? it'd be great Smiley Happy

Re: Navigate to and edit item

As a sample create a PowerApp using the SharePoint list as a data source.  this will automatically create an app with 3 screens (Browse, View, and Edit). The Browse screen has a gallery with exactly the type of control you are describing.  But rather than trying to pass the selected ID when the > is presssed in the gallery it just navigates to the View screen and then sets the Item property on that screen equal to the selected item in the gallery. If you spin up a sample you can see exactly how the screens interact.  that should provide some ideas for you on how to do it in your app.

Re: Navigate to and edit item

Hi @ElTee ,

I've made a similar test for your reference:

inset gallery1 in screen1, a "+" icon on screen2.

insert form1 in screen2, a submit icon on screen2.

Screen1:

Set the gallery1's data source: table1

Set the gallery1's arrow icon's OnSelect: Navigate(Screen2)

Set the "+" icon's OnSelect: NewForm(Form1);Navigate(Screen2)5295.png

Screen2:

Set the form1's data source:table1

Set the form1's Item: Gallery1.Selected

Set the submit button's OnSelect: SubmitForm(Form1);Back()

5296.png

Then you can edit the selected item of the gallery.

Here's a doc for your reference:
