Offline apps : saving data to SharePoint list

Hello there,
I am experiencing with offline capacities of PowerApps.

I know I have to use Connection.Connected to know if the App is online on not.
I know I have to use SaveData to save my data locally on my device, and using LoadData will use this locatlly stored data into my app.

But what i do not know is this :

When my app is back online, how will it work to create new items under Sharepoint ?

For exemple, on the Submit Button, I have these properties :

SubmitButton.OnSelect = If(Connection.Connected;SubmitForm(MyForm); SaveData(blablabla) )

Do I have to detail to the SaveData to save any newly generated ID ?

Will it be intelligent enough to generate one when saving to SharePoint ?

Thanks a lot for your explanations, I don't really figured out how this works, even by reading the doc.

Have a nice day Smiley Wink

Re: Offline apps : saving data to SharePoint list

Hi @Gaëlle ,

Do you not understand the formula that you mentioned?
It means that if you connect with connection, the data of your form will be updated to SharePoint.

If you disconnect with connection, the data of the form will be saved locally.

1)The right sytnax of SaveData is :
SaveData( Collection, Name )

The collection should be the data that you want to save.

In this case, you could try SaveData(MyForm.Updates, Name )

And you do not need to save any other information including the newly generated ID.

2)You do not need other formulas, this formula can update sharepoint list successfully.

SubmitForm(Formname) will update all the data in the form to sharepoint list.

Here are doc about savedata function and submitform function:

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powerapps/maker/canvas-apps/functions/function-savedata-loaddata

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/powerapps/maker/canvas-apps/functions/function-form
