Powerapps - Cannot select BarcodeType

Hi everyone

I am trying to create a very simple App in PowerApps, following this tutorial: Scan a Barcode

However, I don't have the option to set BarcodeType for the object "Barcode Scanner". Please see this image:

As you can see, there is no where I can select the BarcodeType property - thus resulting in that my app does not returning the actual text, it reads from my barcode.

Re: Powerapps - Cannot select BarcodeType

Hi @oliverbusk,

There are some updates to Barcode Scanner control already within PowerApps. The Barcode Scanner control you added within your app is a new Barcode Scanner control.

Within the new Barcode Scanner control, the BarcodeType property has been removed. More details about the new Barcode Scanner control, please check the following blog:

https://powerapps.microsoft.com/en-us/blog/new-barcode-scanner-control/

If you want to set a BarcodeType property within the Barcode Scanner control, you could consider enable the old Barcode Scanner control functionality within the Advanced settings of App settings. Please take a try to enable/turn on the "Legacy Barcode control" option within the Advanced settings of App settings.

After that, you could add the old Barcode Scanner control from Insert-> Media menu as below:3.JPG

Best regards,

Kris
