QuickTask is Blank

I am learning PowerApps.  I watched the video on creating a QuickTask template.  I followed it exactly (to the best of my knowledge).  When the app is in edit mode I see all of the emails and tasks for the email address I provided.  When I go to preview or play, there is nothing there.

Connections have been checked, they look like there are there.

What am I missing?

Re: QuickTask is Blank

Hi @jsm201,

Could you please share a screenshot about the issue?

I have made a test, and the issue is confirmed on my side.

Actually, within Edit mode, the email address displayed the Dropdown control (Dropdown1) is based on DLAddresses Collection which is defined within the OnStart property of the Home screen of the template app:6.JPG

However the DLAddresses collection is based on the email addreddes typed within the SettingsDLsInUse control (TextInput control) added in the Settings screen.

As an alternative solution, if you want to get all of the emails and tasks for your own address, please take a try with the following workaround:7.JPG

Set the Items property of the Dropdown1 to following formula:

User()

Value property set to Email.

Then when you run your app in browser, click "Refresh Inbox" button in upper right corner, check if the issue is solved.

In addition, if you want to select any email address of your Organzation within the Dropdown1, please take a try with the following workaround:8.JPG

Set the Items property of the Dropdown1 to following:

Office365Users.SearchUser().Mail

Modify the Items property of the TextInput2 control as below:

ClearCollect(
Emails,
Office365.GetEmails({
folderPath: EmailFolderName,
fetchOnlyUnread: false,
searchQuery: "(To:" & Trim(Dropdown1.Selected.Value) & " OR CC: " & Trim(Dropdown1.Selected.Value) & ")" & If(!IsBlank(TextInput2.Text), " AND " & TextInput2.Text), /* <-- Modify here */
top: 25}
)
); Set(SelectedMail, First(Emails)); Set(LastSynced, Now())

Modify the Items property of the RefreshButton as below:

Set(LoadEmails, true);
ClearCollect(
Emails,
Office365.GetEmails({
folderPath: EmailFolderName,
fetchOnlyUnread: false,
searchQuery: "(To:" & Trim(Dropdown1.Selected.Value) & " OR CC: " & Trim(Dropdown1.Selected.Value) & ")" & If(!IsBlank(TextInput2.Text), " AND " & TextInput2.Text), /* <-- Modify here */
top: 25}
)
); Set(SelectedMail, First(Emails)); Set(LastSynced, Now()); Set(_showReply, false); Set(LoadEmails, false)

Note: When you run your app in your browser, if the records are not displayed, please click "Refresh Inbox" button

Best regards,

Kris

Re: QuickTask is Blank

I tried both Options (I think you gave two) and neither made the emails display when I run the app.  And there are no email addresses available in Dropdown 1, it is blank.

I am assuming that "run the app" is accomplished by clicking on its title on my PowerApps homepage.

Emails do appear when, in edit mode, I click the "Play" button.

Option 1:  Change "Items" fx of Dropdown 1 to "user()", no change.  App behaves as above.  Click "Refresh Inbox", no change.  App behaves as above.

Option 2:  Change the "Items" fx of Dropdown 1 to "Office365Users.SearchUser().Mail" creates a small red "x" adjacent to Dropdown 1 and another adjacent to TextInput2.  In addition, there is no "Items" option in the fx of TextInput 2.

Thank you for your assistance.

Re: QuickTask is Blank

Thanks for the information.

I have done what I think is change the dropdown value to "User()."  It still does not work.

Can you be more specific as to how this change is made?

Thanks,k
