Save data at SharePoint list but not visible to all users

Hello Everyone

This question is regarding to save data at sharepoint list. To read and save the data at SharePoint, i need to give the rights to users as "edit". In that case, user is able to see all the data at sharepoint which is entered by another user. Is there any way to save the data at sharepoint but i will not give amy rights to him/her of SharePoint.

Thanks
Ashwani

Hi @Ashwani_Gupta

To read data, minimum user needs Read rights

To write data, minimum user needs is Contribute Rights

If you need users to not see data submitted by others, you will need to do item level permissioning

You can also set item level permissions at the entire list level, by goin to list settings -> advanced

Re: Save data at SharePoint list but not visible to all users

Hi @Ashwani_Gupta

In terms of true security this cannot be achieved

You would have to grant user read access to all items in order for user to see all data in PowerApps since PowerApps runs in context of current user only

Your best bet will be to default the sharepoint list view to only show items created by current user and revoke access for users to create personal views

However this is not true security, since if the user is smart he can get to the list item from sharepoint if he knows how to contruct the url

Re: Save data at SharePoint list but not visible to all users

Hi @Ashwani_Gupta

If PowerApps is showing data, then user has to have access to the datasource - so all list items read access is required

Through Flow you can break permissions and all but it will not help achieve your end goal

Re: Save data at SharePoint list but not visible to all users

Thanks Reza for clearing it.

Do we have any option in flow?. Can we achieve this thing through Flow? Without giving rights to user on sharepoint, through flow, read and write data in sharepoint

Thanks
