Single responsive app design for mobile, tablet and desktop

Hi,

 

Please find the requirement and suggest the solution

 

  • Single responsive app should be designed (Reason: user will not be confused by seeing multiple apps for the same application after log-in to PowerApps from desktop/mobile)
  • Compatible to mobile/tablet/desktop
  • For desktp/tablet - two column view
  • For mobile - single column view

Thank you for your suggestions.

I totally agreed with the requrements.

But with current version of PowerApps, this is not available.

 

The approach that I could think out is to suggest the Product team to add a Layout layer, which allows PowerApps users to customize the controls under Different type (Phone, Tablet, or Desktop).

And this requires the App service to be able to determine the Device type.

This is starting to become a reality, in the Preview Program version you could already start seeing updates and now you can get live width and height when app is playing (not when previewing). It wouldn't be too much complicated detecting the available resolution and orientation and then you could make your design choices and set up a dynamic layout adapted to this space.
