Is there a way to concactinate two field of an entity to display in a dropdown.

I Have an entity with first name and last name and ID number.

I would like to concatinate the first and last name to show in the drop down list and be able to capture the ID number when selected.

Re: combine two fields in a table for dropdown

Hi @jlc,

Yes, that is possible to have the combined field to display in the Dropdown control.

We could add the following formula in the format below:

AddColumns(Account,"UserName",Concatenate(FirstName,Lastname)).UserName

In this way, the Dropdown.Selected.value would be configrued to UserName.

To get the ID field, we need to get the following formula:

Lookup(AddColumns(Account,"UserName",Concatenate(FirstName,Lastname)), UserName=Dropdown.Selected.Value, ID)

Adding the function reference:

AddColumns

Lookup

Concatenate

Re: combine two fields in a table for dropdown

Having the concatenated column in the collection is the easy part. Setting the new column as the value for the drop down not easy. I cannot get the new column to show in the drop down that is used to select the column.
