"Data type not supported" when customizing SharePoint form with lookup column

I have a SharePoint list with a custom content type that includes a lookup column. When I try to customize the form for that list, I get an error with these details:

"message": "The required field \"College or School\" data type is not supported\r\nclientRequestId: 6cc925fb-1a10-4123-bd7c-797546202f5a\r\nserviceRequestId: 6cc925fb-1a10-4123-bd7c-797546202f5a"

I've customized forms for other lists that include lookup columns and never run into this issue before, so I'm not sure why it's happening now.

Re: "Data type not supported" when customizing SharePoint form with lookup column

Hi @ChadVKealey ,

Could you please share a bit more about the "College or School" column in your SP List? Is it a LookUp type column?

Could you please show a screenshot about the error within your SP List?

Based on the issue that you mentioned, I have made a test on my side, and don't have the issue that you mentioned. Please consider remove the "Colleage or School" column from your SP List, then re-add a new LookUp column, try the Custom form again, check if the issue is solved.

Best regards,
