submit button to data file

Hi All,

PowerApps newbie here.

I have created an app which picks different lists from excel tables to create a data form which needs to be submitted to a diferent excel table.

I have attached a pic of what the app looks like to give you an idea.

When I hit the submit button I want the data on the page to be submitted to a data table in excel.  Each time the submit button is entered, I want it to create a new entry in the data table.

I have used the submit form action {SubmitForm(<Data Table>} but I am receiving an error which says "the function expects an editable form as its input"

How do I get the submit button to save as per the directions above please.

Re: submit button to data file

If you did not change default form name, it should be SharePointForm1, for example.

so

try

SubmitForm(SharePointForm1)

SharePointForm1 knows where to send data automatically.

Re: submit button to data file

SubmitForm() works with the edit form and the parameter it takes is a Form Name. If you aren't using a form control to update the data in Excel then you need to use the Patch function to update the Excel data source.

Re: submit button to data file

Are you trying "SubmitForm()" ?

If so, this will not work.

In the parenthisis, you need to supply the formname.

What is the name of your SharePont form?

Thanks,

Ashok

Did you ever get this fixed? I'm encountering a similar problem in that my edit form isn't being submitted with the same error as you
