I just cant get the PowerBI apps to connect to my CDS environment. It goes as far as signing in and then defaults to the sample location with anonymous sign-in. What am I missing? My license is M365E5 + PowerApp Per User Trial.
In general, I would avoid too much work with the "Default" environment - it has a few quirks on its own. I was able to follow the instructions exactly and have it deployed into a production environment just fine
@PMLIO In the Power Platform Admin Center, Select Environment, Click Settings, Resources, then All Legacy Settings. From there, click on the arrow next to settings, customizations, then developer resources. Try using the URL that is listed in the Instance Web API, that worked for me.
It should just be https://<yourenvironmentname>.api.crm.dynamics.com/api/data/v9.1/ in most cases
@texsk12edas Thanks, I tried that and still doesn't work (https://****.api.crm4.dynamics.com/api/data/v9.1/). May have to try deploying into production environment. By the way, do you know if there needs to be some records in the Cds environment for the reports to work?
@PMLIO that would probably be for the best, as I said before - there seems to be a higher failure rate (for various tasks) whenever I've worked with the default environment. The Microsoft Forms Pro (or Dynamics Customer Voice now because Microsoft loves renaming things) documentation noted some potential issues with the default environment itself. It may or may not work properly, but might as well give it a shot.
Another possible issue, when you navigate to https://admin.powerplatform.microsoft.com and click on your Default environment, what Database Version are you seeing? I'm 2-3 years into my exploration of Dynamics, but I've only seen that crm4 in the URL with older environments.
On existing entities/records, not that I'm aware of - I was able to deploy the solution into a fresh production environment with no issues on my end. If you're still having any trouble feel free to ping me and I'll see if I can't help out
it seems that for that URL on the image you have the correct information, but if your problem is with the CDS, most likely you are missing the "Https://<orgname>.crm.dynamics.com/" most of the time the screen will add only the "Http" and we will need the "Https", please try using the Https before the CDS URL.

The Location Readiness and Facility Management reports have started to work. Probably because my CDS did not have any data? Once I started putting in my own records may have kicked it to life. The Case Management report still wont connect, but then I haven't created any cases. I will try that next. By the way I get this error using my standard user account when running the Employee Return to the Workplace app. The app itself works but keep getting this error. The user account is licensed using a Power app 2 trial license and member of the Return to Workplace Employee security group. Any ideas?
I followed the steps in Step 5: Embed the Power BI report in the model-driven app. Why am I getting this?
I'm having the same issue, but only on one of the three Power BI apps. Just the location readiness fails to connect to my CDS environment. The other two are fine. They are in the default environment, but I don't think that is the issue since the Power App and the other Power BI Apps are working fine. I enter my CDS environment with HTTPS, click Next. Then it tries to sign in and then says it can't connect to https://returntowork-staging.crm.dynamics.com, which is the sample data rather than my data.
@mlongoria all my PowerBI reports are now working. I'm not sure what resolved it. I did re-deploy the apps to production environment using my admin account with Powerapp per user plan. With the trial plan I couldn't create a new environment as I didn't have enough DB capacity. Then I redeployed the apps and the PowerBI reports. It didn't work at first but then started working once I added test data in my CDS environment. One other thing to check is your Scheduled Refresh settings and ensure that's correct.
Right now this step is not working for me.
Step 5: Embed the Power BI report in the model-driven app
