Distinct formula returning [Object object]

Hi,

I am new to powerapps and am trying to display a simple datatable which shows the distinct entries from a datasource. Here is what I have:

ClearCollect(PollingQuestions,
{PollQuestion: Distinct(Polls, Question)
});

What I am getting is [Object object] in the datatable instead of the value. Anyone know why this syntax isn't working? It seems like this should be pretty easy but it's just not working.

Thanks

Kathryn

Hi @Kathryn_Marie

did you update the datasource property of your datatable?

  1. select the datatable
  2. in datasource property - select some other collection and then reselect PollingQuestions
  3. Edit the fields - you should see "Result" column

Thanks.

Re: Distinct formula returning [Object object]

Hi @Kathryn_Marie

If you are trying to get distinct questions from Polls (sp list/ table), you should write:

ClearCollect(PollingQuestions, Distinct(Polls, Question) );

Thanks.

Re: Distinct formula returning [Object object]

@shailendra74 I just get a blank line in my datatable then, because the formula is not saying what column to put the entry into.
