Filter Drop Down Box

Hi there,

I have two SharePoint lists. One is called Declaration and has the columns Equipment (choice), Approved (yes/no), User (text).

The other is called 'Equipment Calendar' and I am using a form with this data. There is User (people field) and Equipment (choice) again.

I want to be able to filter the Equipment drop down so that it only displays the Equipment where the selected display name/claims of the user in the form is equal to that of the User or Author of the Declaration.

So if Person 1 has an item for Equipment A, an item for Equipment B and an item for Equipment D (all with approved = yes) in Declaration and they then complete the booking form with their Name, it should then only give them the options of Equipment A, B and D in the Equipment dropdown.

I have tried all sorts of formulas but cannot get this to work. Any ideas?

Re: Filter Drop Down Box

Hi @calvares,

Could you please share a screenshot about your app's configuration?

Could you please show more details about the two SP lists that you mentioned?

Further, do you want to filter the Equipment drop down options within your form based on the Person column value?

Based on your needs, I have made a test on my side, I afraid that there is no way to achieve your needs in PowerApps currently.

Currently, there is no way to filter Choice type column values of a SP list within PowerApps. If you would like this feature to be added in PowerApps, please submit an idea to PowerApps Ideas Forum:

Best regards,

Kris

Re: Filter Drop Down Box

Hi @v-xida-msft

Yes, I'd like to filter the Equipment drop down based on a Person value. So does this mean I can't filter at all on the Equipment choice field? Could I use a drop down of all the users in the equipment list and match that to their equipment?

I can filter a gallery with Declaration data using the requirements I need. Could I perhaps create a collection with the equipment column of that gallery and use that in my form?
