The property expects Record Values, but this rule produces incompatible Error values - look up field

Environment Details:

These issues happen in both standard chrome browser as well as in ‘Incognito’ browsing as well.

As discussed on the phone, when a lookup field is first connected, everything seems to be working as intended.

(Image shows a basic form using our ‘xxx Office’ custom Entity. Within that entity is a ‘Many-to-one’ Relationship to ‘Currency’. Both Options show correctly

However, after saving, by just Refreshing the page within the browser, the data source breaks with the error “The property expects Record Values, but this rule produces incompatible Error values” and no values show anymore within the dropdown:

Resolution:

The default Choices() function seemed to be the issue here within the lookup control.

Tried wrapping the Choices function in a simple Sort function ‘Sort(Choices('xxxOffices'.cr4cx_xxxState), cr4cx_state)’ and the control now properly shows the correct Entity and field names whereas before it was either blank or showing columns for a different lookup source.

Hi @sobordia,

Could you please share a bit more about your scenario?

Have you solved your problem?

The error message told that the property within your data source is required to fill a Record value, but you provided a incompatible value for it.

If you have solved your problem, please go ahead and click “Accept as Solution” so that this thread will be marked for other users to easily identify.

Best regards,

Kris

Powerapps Dev comments :I was able to get through our Offices app last week by applying work arounds. I can’t say the same for our Sites app. Spending too much time on it only to have it continually break for no reason. This is the same issue has reported to MS. I give up for now.

Here are some of the symptoms via screenshots. All of these property settings are valid. To correct them you can simply delete (back out) and re-apply. You will “see” PA “re-thinking” and the error goes away. Save the app, close it, re-open and all of these issues have returned.
