Ability to extract email as MSG or EML file from various Flow mail services

Flow nicely integrates with various email services, I see separate Actions and Triggers for Gmail, Office 365 Outlook, Outlook.com.

All these services follow a similar pattern. They allow emails to be fetched from an inbox and access the Body, Subject, To, CC etc, which is all nice and well. However, what is deparately needed is the ability to get a copy of the full email in MSG or EML format so the entire email can be passed between services so it can be archived or processed further.

I see quite a few people asking for this in the forums and we need it as well so our customers can pass emails (as MSG or EML) into our Flow based PDF Converter.

As requested in the following Flow discussions

Most people ask for a very specific implementation (e.g. Store email in SharePoint), but as we already have the facility to create files in SharePoint (and DropBox, OneDrive, Google Drive, Box.com) we just need a generic function in each of the provided email services to 'Get email as MSG'. From here on the MSG can be passed into other services without tying the implementation into a specific service.

This is pretty much as the Subject reads.  I'm currently trying to make a simple helpdesk ticketing solution on SharePoint Online.  However as you all know the ability to email lists is not available.  I've come up with a few solutions.

1. Create a site mailbox, create a forward from our helpdesk email to that, then create a rule that moves all incoming emails to the documents folder in Outlook that actually points to sharepoint.  *** Worked in theory.  Was just going to run outlook on a vm that would run the rule since I couldn't make the rule on the OWA/site mailbox page.  But the Outlook rules won't allow you to choose the Documents folder.  You can drag and drop it manually though. So this one is busted.

2. Use a rule that runs a script which copies the email as a .msg to a network folder.  Then use a third party tool (we own one) to sync that folder to a sharepoint list. *** Haven't been able to find a script that works. So this one is sorta busted.

3. Put up a SharePoint Foundations server so I can email a list, then use the third party tool to sync the list up to 365.  *** This should work but really seems like a lot of work.

4. Come here and see if Flow or it's communtiy can help me come up with an easier solution.

Right now I'm hoping 4 works out.  Thanks in advance!

I made this post before I tried to make one on my own.  I just looked through the templates.  So at this point I have tried to make a flow and it appears I should be able to do what I want, however I'm missing somthing.  My test is taking an incoming email and creating an entry on my custom list.  However it is not adding the attachment to that list if there is one.  I'd like the new list entry to have the subject, the body of the email, and any attachments added to it. I'm getting a new item on SharePoint but no attachments or body. Basically just the subject and that's it.  Do I need a column in the list that matches the name of what it is in an email? For instance right now my Subject line is showing up in a column called Subject...which is the Title feild renamed.  So do I need to add a column called body for that to get put there?

Nope that didn't work.  Help.  Smiley Happy

I apologize, I didn't quite understand the organization of the forum when I first posted.  I posted something similar in the Flow Forum and ended up building a flow to accomplish what I needed.  Would be a lot easier if you could just get the entire email as a .eml file somehow though.

Here is my solution: https://powerusers.microsoft.com/t5/Flow-Forum/How-To-Email-and-Attachment-to-Sharepoint/m-p/8712#U8...

This is a great idea, but very much tied into SharePoint. I have created a more generic version of this idea at https://powerusers.microsoft.com/t5/Flow-Ideas/Ability-to-extract-email-as-MSG-or-EML-file-from-vari.... That way it can be used in all services, not just SharePoint.
