Ability to extract email as MSG or EML file from various Flow mail services

Flow nicely integrates with various email services, I see separate Actions and Triggers for Gmail, Office 365 Outlook, Outlook.com.

All these services follow a similar pattern. They allow emails to be fetched from an inbox and access the Body, Subject, To, CC etc, which is all nice and well. However, what is deparately needed is the ability to get a copy of the full email in MSG or EML format so the entire email can be passed between services so it can be archived or processed further.

I see quite a few people asking for this in the forums and we need it as well so our customers can pass emails (as MSG or EML) into our Flow based PDF Converter.

Most people ask for a very specific implementation (e.g. Store email in SharePoint), but as we already have the facility to create files in SharePoint (and DropBox, OneDrive, Google Drive, Box.com) we just need a generic function in each of the provided email services to 'Get email as MSG'. From here on the MSG can be passed into other services without tying the implementation into a specific service.

Are there any plans to export msg files at all? Eml files don't work for us as you're unable to view them in Outlook (as far as I can see). Thanks!

You can open a .eml file ( the type saved by the export email action) in Outlook.  To test, just send the file to a SharePoint doc library, then right click on teh file and choose download, and then choose Outlook to open the downloaded file. Just tested and it works perfectly...  Smiley Happy

Here is a link on how to open the .eml files

I can't seem to get this to work, either. The file wites as a .eml file, which is fine, but double-clicking it and opening it in Outlook just produces a blank email with no from/to, no body, etc... . I can open up the .eml files in a text editor and see the HTML so I know at least the body is coming through.

I had been using https://messageops.com/sharepoint-bridge-office-365-edition/ for copying of .msg files from an inbox and putting them onto sharepoint, but that product is no longer supported, and I would think that Microsoft would have an automated way to do that. I'm fine with .eml files if they would contain the full body, subject, headers, attachments, etc... .

That's really all I want is to take incoming messages and dump them to certain folders in sharepoint, based on a variety of rules (we're an IT support company, get loads of generic/automated emails that need to be sorted to various places where team members can get them). I want to whole message, not just the attachments or not just the body, but the whole thing.
