Send email on behalf of SharePoint site, not user

Hi,

I would like the ability for emails regarding items in SharePoint having been created or modified to come from no-reply@sharepoint.com or some generic email with the SharePoint site's name showing as the sender, just like in SharePoint Designer, instead of these general notification emails showing up as coming from the Flow author (i.e., me). This is for the "Office 365 Outlook Send an email" action, unless there is another action I can use for that.

Status: Declined

We not plan on adding this feature, but you can already accomplish something almost identical to this via two different mechanisms. If you want a generic email like no-reply@sharepoint.com, that's supported via the Mail - Send an email notification action.

This connector works the same as the normal connectors, but instead of using a user account it acts as its own Flow based connector. Therefore when you send emails using it, the message will read as coming from microsoft@powerapps.com and display like the following:

Alternatively, if you want it to come from an email inside the domain you can do that by using a Shared mailbox, as called out below in the comments.

Hey, have you tried creating a distribution list and assigning yourself as a delegate to that group (to send from)? Then you can send from it. It looks as professional as you name it.

Not yet, no, but thanks for the suggestion. I was going to see if I could get a shared mailbox created and then I could be given Send As permissions for it. I have a couple like that already but nothing that would really be appropriate for this.

Yes - a shared mailbox works to. Just make sure that if you choose this route - you need to edit it's exchange properties to add yourself as a delegate (60min wait for changes to take affect) then click advanced option in your Flow step and put that email in your "From" field.

If you are an IT admin, you can make it:

IT@yourdomain.com

-or-

IT_support @yourdomain.com

You should see where i'm going with this.

Thanks. I will pass that on to the systems analysts.

It would be nice to have this "from" option on the "Send email with option" action too.
