Change DisplayMode in DropDown

So I know this is something simple, but I am trying to change the DisplayMode of a DropDown control, based on whether or not a checkbox control is checked.  I have tried the following in the OnCheck and OnUncheck checkbox actions but I am missing something because it doesn't update the dropdown displaymode.

Default DisplayMode is Disabled.

OnCheck is

ddtransdelto.DisplayMode.Edit and I have tried ddtransdelto.DisplayMode = Edit

OnUncheck is

ddtransdelto.DisplayMode.Disabled and I have tried ddtransdelto.DisplayMode = Disabled

Any insight would be much appreciated...

Check out Shane Young's You Tube on Form display modes.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BnzaSDYl8mA. I think you can get the answers you are seeking from there.

Re: Change DisplayMode in DropDown

I was unable to get the displaymode to change, but was able to use the visible property.  I appreciate the help.
