Collection (with Camera Images) to appear in HTML (which is then converted to PDF)

Hello PowerApps Community!

Working on building my first PowerApp (I’m a non-programmer). I’ve hit a wall and am hoping to get some guidance…

My collection: I’ve got a collection that includes images I’ve taken inside PowerApps (with the camera feature).

My goal is to get my collection data (including photos) to appear in an .HTML (that will then be converted in Flow to a PDF - NOTE: I've got that part ok).

My progress: I used Shane Young’s awesome solution https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bfXV_GXc_JM (25 minutes, 17 seconds) – and poof – I have everything I need except the photos.

My issue: I can’t get the collection camera photos to into appear…(I know they need to converted – but I'm not sure how to best do this).

For my situation:

  • The easier the code, the better (I'm not a programmer)
  • I'd prefer not to use a ton of flows to do this (e.g. one per photo), but ok if that's the only solution.
  • I can’t use a custom connector (already used my 1)
  • I can (and wouldn’t mind using) sending the photos to Azure Blob temporarily (already have an account and do this for the pen and ink signature))
  • I’m guessing I’ll need to be using the ForAll function somewhere – and if we don’t use Azure Blob, will probably want to use flow to convert to dataUriToBinary as described here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ovLIwnj6QjU (18:18). Maybe I will need to use First or FirstN?

Anyways…Any guidance would be much appreciated.

I really appreciate the training and guidance put out by superusers – and appreciate this community. Here’s a few links that could be potential solutions.

Here’s my code:

"<!DOCTYPE html>

<html>

<body>

<center>

<h2>Additional Information and Data</h2>

<table style='width:100%'>

<tr>

   <td><b>Name</b></td>

   <td><b>Details</b></td>

   <td><b>Tab</b></td>

</tr>"

& Concat(CameraPhotos2, "<tr><td>" & Name & "</td><td>" & Detailss & "</td><td>" & Tab & "</td></tr>")

&

"

</table>

</body>

</HTML>

"

Re: Collection (with Camera Images) to appear in HTML (which is then converted to PDF)

Quick follow up:

I tried hacking it a little - and added this when I collect the image: Collect(CameraPhotos2,{Base64: Concatenate("<img src=""",ImageTaken,"""/>")

Basically my thought was to make the really long base64 random numbers into a hyperlink that can be used.

The results were meh - sometimes it would show one photo, sometimes two, sometimes none.

Anybody out there successfully gotten images from a collection into the HTML table?

Thanks again,
Spencer

Getting pictures in a PDF would still really enhance my app - hope someone can crack the code!
