ComboBox Issue - Allow Searching

Hi when I use a combobox in my apps and turn on "Allow Searching", the control does not work on a mobile phone. When you click on the drop down it looks like the keyboard is about to open but then it instantly closes. Therefore, I cannot use the combobox with the search function.

 

Has anybody had this issue? It works fine in the web viewer.

 

I'm using a Samsung Galaxy S8.

Could you please share a bit more about your PowerApps app?

 

I have made a test on my side and don't have the issue that you mentioned. My PowerApps app's configuration as below:83558DF0-7833-4BCF-8DF0-D390932C07CF.jpg

My Android device is Samsung Galaxy C9 Pro and the version of my android device is 7.1.1. The version of PowerApps within my Android device is 3.18051.15.

 

Please check if the version of PowerApps within your Android device is the latest version, if not, please update the PowerApps to the latest version and then check if the issue is solved. 

 

In addition, please check if the version of your Android device is the latest version, if not, please upgrade it to the latest version.

Hi, I have updated to the latest Android software and my PowerApps version is 3.18052.6. I am still having the same issue.

 

My app has around 70 screens at the moment, but each simply interacts with a SharePoint list. Some of the combobox options reference a static list, others reference more complex lookups. In all cases I'm having the same issue. 

 

I would say the issue is with the keyboard as it tries to open and then closes instantly, causing the combobox to close. If I click in a text input box elsehwehere on the app, then the keyboard opens fine and I can select the combobox as normal. However, this is workaround is not desired for the end-user.

I have had this same issue- and I have tried it on a samsung s5 and a samsung s9.

 

What I found is that by turning off the "allow searching" it allows the screen to scroll up to stop the keyboard from blocking the options. However since doing this I am getting an error when attempting to 'submit'

We are aware of a bug with the combo box when AllowSearching is true. On some Android devices, tapping on the combo box opens the dropdown. The keyboard appears, causing the app to scroll. The scroll dismisses the combo box.

 

The fix for the above bug will be available in late June. A workaround is to try to position the combo box near the top of the screen so that it can open without causing the screen to scroll.

 

@Anonymous it looks like you have another issue with form submission. Can you describe what is the error?

I was getting the error message on my submit icon- and even though I expanded all fields to try to locate where the issue was coming from, I couldn't find it. I have attached the screenshot of the error message

 

So I fixed it by removing the submit icon and adding a new one in- now it works.

Hello DM2018,

 

This is a known issue with the ComboBox on Android. The workaround is to not run the application in full screen mode. This can be done by dragging the bottom status bar from the bottom of the screen and then using the "." item. The full screen can also be disabled in settings on per-app level.

Thank you for taking the time to take the screenshot. That error has various causes. It is likely the Android dropdown issue you mentioned already, but it could also be caused by an incorrect formula. Glad to know it is working for you now.
