Filter phonecall entity by user using Dynamics365

I have posted a similar question in the Expressions/Formula group with no success so I will try it here.  Hopefully somebody has an answer that works otherwise PowerApps is dead to me as I have spent a ton of time trying to figure out something that should be simple.

I have created a Canvas powerapp that uses Dynamics365 as the connection.  I add the phonecall entity as a datasource.  All I simply want to do is show Phone calls by User so I'm attempting to Filter my datasource like this into a collection;

Collect(collectcalls, Filter('Phone Calls', 'Created By' = uname))

uname is a global text variable and = User().Fullname when the app starts

'Created By' comes up as an option to select when I'm typing in the formula, this is the display name on the phonecall entity in dynamics and it's a lookup to the User entity.

The error is a red underline under the equal sign that reads; Incompatible type values are not the same.

I have tried the Owner field and that has the same error.  So how can I filter the phone calls and only get phone calls by user?

Re: Filter phonecall entity by user using Dynamics365

I changed my formula to your recomendation;

Collect(collectactivity, Filter('Phone Calls', 'Created By'.'Full Name' = uname))

But still getting an error; Invalid use of (.)

But with your suggestion, I changed the formula to this which works!

Collect(collectactivity, Filter('Phone Calls', 'Created By (createdby_phonecall)'.'Full Name' = uname))

Re: Filter phonecall entity by user using Dynamics365

Hi @FalconTwo ,

Do you want to filter your 'Phone Call' records based on a specific User in your app?

Based on the formula that you provided, I think there is something wrong with it. I agree with you, the 'Created By' column is a LookUp column, reference values from the Users Entity.

Within your Filter formula, the 'Created By' column is a LookUp column, but the uname variable returns a Text value, you could not compare a LookUp value with a uname variable using "=" operator (incompatible data type match).

I have made a test on my side, please consider modify your formula as below:

Collect(
collectcalls,
Filter('Phone Calls', 'Created By'.'Full Name' = uname)
)

Please consider take a try with above solution, then check if the issue is solved.
