I have a powerappp with a flow to send push notifcations to mobile devices when a new item is created on a sharepoint list. How can I include a link to the item just created on the flow push notification? I read that it was possible using a parameter but when I try to pass a dynamic content (Link to Item) the flow throws errors.
"The request content was invalid and could not be deserialized: 'Error converting value 30 to type 'Microsoft.WindowsAzure.ResourceStack.Common.Collections.InsensitiveDictionary`1[System.String]'. Path 'params', line 1, position 356.'."
Could anyone help me sove this problem?
How is your flow created? Is it triggered by a PowerApps button or “SharePoint – When an item is created”?
Could you show me a screenshot of your flow?
From your description, it seems that you are using the dynamic content “Link to item” in your flow, so I assume that you are using the trigger “When an item is created”. I create a simple flow to test this issue on my side, when an item is created in the list, a mobile notification will be sent without issues.
Please share more details to help reproduce this issue on my side.
Thanks for replying!
The flow kicks off when an item is created in a sharepoint list. I'm trying to set up push notifications which I get fine but when I tab on the mobile device, it just opens the app. I'd like it to open the item that was just created. Can this be done using parameters? I tried it using "Add dynamic content" but it doesn't work and I get the error i mentioned before. Here is a screenshot of my flow:
Did you ever figure this out? I'd be really interested to know what parameters can be added to open a list or library item instead of just the app.
You have to add some parameters to pass to your app, and then in the app you have to handle those parameters and take actions when they have a value. If the app is opened normally, the parameters will not hold a value.
For instance you might want to add the Id of a certain record to you r Flow so when you start your app you can for instance go directly to a details page and use the Lookup-function to find the record you passed in the parameters.
