Need advice - Implement push notifications on my app

Hello,

I started testing the push notifications on Powerapps and got it working on my application. Basically the function is launched after a submit of a form is performed via application A. The push notification is then sent to a second app (Application B) and users who had it installed and accepted the push notifications will be alerted.

After further reading I understand that anyone using the application A now needs a P1 or P2 licence in order to use the push notifications functions in my app. What I am wondering is, can this be achieved with a single licence?

The users in my group can change often so this makes things confusing to manage. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Need advice - Implement push notifications on my app

Hi @Owizardo ,

Could you please share a bit more about your scenario?

Do you want to send an push notification within your PowerApps app?

Currently, within PowerApps, if you want to send a push notification within PowerApps using PowerApps Notification connector, you must own PowerApps Plan 1 license at least.

Note: The PowerApps Notification connector is a Premium connector, you must own PowerApps Plan 1 license at least to use it.

On your side, your end users could consider purchase PowerApps Plan 1 license for their PowerApps.

More details about the difference between PowerApps licenses, please check the following article:

Re: Need advice - Implement push notifications on my app

Hello thanks for the reply but it dosent quite answer the question.

So my appliciation a uses the premium connector to send push notifications. The idea of the application is to alert my users when we have IT outages. My application A has a simple form when on submit of a button, it uses the premium connector to send push notifications ... (example PowerAppsNotification.SendPushNotification ...)

So my scenario is that i have a team of 10-20 users who will be sending alerts via my application A. Think of us like a helpdesk where agents can come and go... In this scenario, would all my 10-20 users need plan 1 just to be able to use the application a?

My main concern in this case is that my team changes often, so one day i can have 10 users or i can have 20 new users another day and not always the same users ... would make managing licencing a bit of a nightmare...

So if i dont have a choice to give them all p1 licece ... can there be a batter way to build this application so that I only need one main licence?

Re: Need advice - Implement push notifications on my app

Hi @Owizardo ,

Are these end users exsited within your Organization?

Do you want a main license to be shared between your end users rather than assign one license for each of them?

If these users are in same Organization as you (outside your Org), and they want to use your app, each of them must own PowerApps Plan 1 license at least. When new users added into your Org and want to use this app, you need also to assign one PowerApps Plan 1 license (at least) for each of them.

Currently, within PowerApps, there is no license supported like you mentioned could be shared between multiple users.

If you would like this feature to be added in PowerApps, please submit an idea to PowerApps Ideas Forum:
