PowerApps Auto save Not Working

The "Auto save" option in my Account screen is set to "On" and I am saving locally, but I am still having to manually save changes because it seems to only work sporadically, not every 2 minutes like it says it will. That being said, despite having Auto save turned on AND manually saving my changes every 5 minutes or so, I still somehow lost an hour of work. If someone could look into this issue it would be greatly appreciated!

Here is the support response:

 

With the help of the session ID you have  provided we had done some investigation from the backend . There was nothing error while saving the  version .

 

PG TEAM ASSESMENT : only assessment here is that somehow Web Authoring code sent the wrong document URL when it performed the save for version 25. This overwrote any changes made after Version 24 was saved.

 

This is something very transient and we don’t think this will repeat again ! In future if you face any issue  you can always raise a ticket and we will be happy to assist you !

 

So theres nothing I can do to avoid it happening again but it is of some comfort that if you have Auto Save turned on they can go back and get the most recent Auto Save.

Thanks for the feedback.

In addition to save the App changes, please verify if you have published the most recent version of your App.

Changes would only be available in App Editing if the version didn't get published.

 

If that is not the case, then you may need to share the corresponding Session details for further investigation.

I am not seeing the changes in the app editing after saving locally. How do I share the session details?

Hi @eag768,

 

You could find Session ID information under Account->Diagnostics->Session Details.

Each time you working with PowerApps, there would be a Session ID generated for the current login, which would generate a log for the activities at the service side.

For current situation, please take a try to "repro" the scenario you mentioned, and once you have noticed the symptom, then please take a note of the Session ID, and post here.

I will then forward that from my side for further investigation.

This just happened to me today.

After saving regularly yesterday I appear to have lost a good few hours of work even though versions have been created in the versions list online.

I have opened a support ticket but any suggestions on how to retrieve my lost work would be helpful.

This is the description for the support ticket, in case it is useful in figuring out what happened.

 

I have autosave every 2 minutes switched on.

Yesterday I completed a screen I was working on, I then created a new screen and populated it with controls and code to make the majority of it work.

At 5:31pm I hit CTRL-S to save before going home from work, the saving popup appeared and completed without issue.

I opened the app for editing this morning and the majority of changes from yesterday afternoon were gone.

I noticed that a new version had been created this morning so I restored version 25 that was created yesterday at 5:31pm.

I re-opened the app for editing and still may changes are missing.

I Use the web version of the editing studio on Chrome Version 69.0.3497.100 (Official Build) (64-bit)

Yes I just had a response and they have managed to pull out an autosave that does have all my work in it, which is a relief.

 

I have asked why it happened and how to avoid it happening in the future.

When I get a response I'll post it here so others don't have the same problem.
