PowerApps Gallery Filtering Activities by Contact Owner

Hey All,

I'm building a PowerApp to show Text Message activities and I need to filter them down by user.  I'm running into issues figuring out how to filter the text messages down because in our instance the owner of the Text Message is a generic admin user.

The criteria I'm trying to use to display the gallery is, received Text Messages for Contacts owned by the current user (regarding Contact is owned by current app user).  The first part is easy enough and so is filtering by user but where I'm running into trouble is with the jump to Contacts owned by the current user.

Does anyone know if this is possible and if yes, how?   Thank you in advance for any help you can provide.

Thanks

Could you please share more details of your situation?

What data source do you use? And what is the column type?

Could you please share more details of your datasource and your gallery?

Can you share your cureently controls and its formula expressions in your Apps?

Re: PowerApps Gallery Filtering Activities by Contact Owner

Hi @v-yuxima-msft,

The basic situation is that I have a gallery that I'm trying to populate with items.  I need those items to be received Text Messages for Contacts owned by the current user of the app (User()).  The datasource is Dynamics 365, right now I have both the 'Text Messages' table and the Contacts table being used for this app.  I put an example of one of the formulas that I've tried below, I know it's incomplete but it's part of the one I'm trying to into solving this problem.  This is just a browse gallery I also have hooked to a searchbox and that search is by phone sender's phone number.  I hope that helps and let me know if I can provide more information, I appreciate you looking into this for me.

SortByColumns(Search(AddColumns('Text Messages', "Contacts", LookUp(Contacts, 'Contact Owner Name' = User().FullName)), TextSearchBox1.Text, "cdi_senderphonenumber"), If(SortDescending1, Descending, Ascending))
