Powerapps and email

Is there a way to send email with powerapps that doesn't require the users that log in to authenticate using Outlook 365?  Our school is using Google apps with gmail and I've tried using the sendmail option and using flows, but neither will work for me as users don't have an Outlook 365 mailbox.  I have an account setup to send mail from Office 365, but the users won't be able to login since they don't have mailboxes.

Re: Powerapps and email

Hi @Tech08,

There is a way to send the Email without authentication, but currently it is a little problematic.

Using:

Launch("mailto:email@email.com?subject=Something goes here")

Should be able to open the Default Mail app under the Device, but will leave the Subject and the Body with sapce replaced by '+'.

And currently there is no workable way to deal with that.

Feedback on this has been submitted already.

Re: Powerapps and email

Great, this works.  Opens up email on my tablet and has subject field populated.  What I need it to do is copy the detail in the gallery into the body of the email, do you you know how to do this? Thx

Re: Powerapps and email

Hi,

I'm looking for a solution to the opposite of this.  I would like to have a designated email account receive emails and create a case in our HelpDesk PowerApp automatically.  This way I don't have to train users on how to use the app, they can just simply email a designated email account and then a ticket is generated for them with the details.

Any suggestions?
