"Edit" button not showing after Editing and Saving form

I have a form set up with multiple screens for new, edit, view etc...

From the View screen, I use the "Edit" ribbon button to get to the Edit screen.

After completing my edits I use the "Save" ribbon button to save my form

In my Edit screen Edit forms OnSuccess property I navigate back to the View screen, and refresh the datasource

Navigate(ScreenHome,ScreenTransition.None); Refresh(Events);

When I am back at the View screen, the ribbon buttons still show "Save", "Cancel" etc... not "Edit All" etc...

Have I done something wrong here?

@Sandie

You are circumventing the buttons again like your last post.

What you need is to not go back to the view form.  The normal action of the Save button in the ribbon is to save and close the item.

In your OnSuccess of your form you are saving, you should have a RequestHide() function.

That will set your buttons properly.  Otherwise, there is no way to control what is in the button list.

I hope that is helpful for you.

Re: "Edit" button not showing after Editing and Saving form

Hi @Sandie ,

Could you show me your screenshoots and settings of button?

Normally, different screens have different buttons. But in your issue, it seems like you use different mode in the same screen and want to diaplay different buttons according to mode.

I suggest you use two standalone screens, one for viewing, one for editing.

Here's a doc about gallery,editform,displayform for your reference:

Re: "Edit" button not showing after Editing and Saving form

@RandyHayes  Thanks, it seems like an unnatural flow to me, to not be able to go to the view page after editing... anyway...

So can I have it close and redirect the browser to a specific URL?  My default list view is "upcoming events", after someone has submitted a new event I would like them to see the "pending events" list view (otherwise they may think their event didnt submit properly if they cant see it in the list!)

@Sandie

The list *should* update once the person submits.

However, in general, hearing what you are saying, perhaps doing just a customized form is not what you want.  The "flow" of that process is pretty much how any form in SharePoint works - you "new" a record, "view" a record, or "edit" a record.  Perhaps you are looking for more of an app where you can control all the aspects of what the user sees.  This would be separate from the view of the list and that normal flow.

In other words, perhaps not have people interact with the SharePoint list through the "standard" way at all and just put them in an App you have designed where all the conditions you want happen the way you want.

Just a thought...
