rate limit is exceeded using Office365Users.UserProfile

Hi,

i am trying to make a collection on the OnStart property and add a column of the display name of the (CreatedByUser) using the formula below:

 

ClearCollect(CacheReports, AddColumns('Daily Reports', "CreatedByName",  Office365Users.UserProfile(CreatedByUser).DisplayName))

but the problem is it always shows an error saying:

 

"The service returned an error: Office365Users!UserProfile: {Status code 429, "message": "Rate limit is exceeded. try again in 5 seconds."}"

 

which results in incomplete collection, (blank cells in the "CreatedByName" column)!!

 

please advise,

I'm having the same issue with the Office365Users!UserProfile api calls from PowerApps, any way to change or work around the rate limit?

When you hit the user profile in a fomula like "filter" or "cache" it makes a call out to the user profile service for each record it needs to evaluate (at leas that is what the behavior looks like).  For instance, I'm trying to limit visibility to records in a dataset to only those people whose user profile department match a department value in a field on the record.  Instead of using the user profile value in the filter formula, I set a variable to the user profile value I wanted on application start.  Then I used the variable in the filter forumula.  You should see a dramatic performance improvement as well.  Hope that helps for the issues you are experiencing.
