We have a page, which has around 2000 visitors on average per month. For this amount of anonymous visitors it makes sense to take 5 capacity packs (75$ x 5 = 375$) to cover some fluctuation. But what happens if we get 3.000 visitors or more? Is there a way to automatically add a capacity pack, or do we only get a notification that the paid amount of visitors is reached and the page is no longer available for visitors. The later case would be horrible, so I'm concerned to use Power Pages.
You will receive notifications from Microsoft about your Portal usage.
Your Portal won't stop working, but resources would scale down, which means your portal would slow down considerably.
Important here to understand if the 3000 visitors are unique visitors, if some of them are visiting back, they are considered 1 user from a license perspective withing a month.
Currently it's not possible to automatically add capacity packs, but that's a nice idea, I will make sure to bring that to Microsoft's attention.
