I am trying to create a flow where..
If an item is modified and conditions are met...
Send an approval email....
If the item is approved...update a field in the list to Approved...
If the item is rejected....update a field in the list to Rejected.
However, when the line items is updated either way (approved or rejected), it send out the same approval email all over again...I'm assuming since the line item was modified.
Any suggestions? I'd like the flow to stop once the line modified line item was approved or rejected.
Yes, the situation here would cause Microsoft Flow in a loop.
Would it be available for you to switch the trigger with When a new item created?
The available way that I could think out is the following:
After the when an existing item is modified Action, add a condition to check a Flow tag.
And under your SharePoint list, add a special field for Flow tag.
For Modification that would require Email Approval, Update the Flow tag with some special text (which we would use to trigger the Apporval Email, ), once the Approval or the reject has been doen, under the Update item action, change the Flow tag fields with its default value.
For example, the default value for Flow tag is "Default",
Once the modification would need approval, change this field with "NeedApproval"
Then the flow should be able to stop sending the Approval Email all the time.
Thank you the email.
In addition, when the list item is Not Approved, I need the flow to stop, but I also need the list item to have another opportunity to be approved once the flow has stopped. If the list item is updated, I'd like for the approval proces to begin all over again. Is this possible?
In SPD, you can create a workflow beginning with an IFTTT; In flow, the flows seems to pertain to either a new item or modified, but not one trigger working for both. Please advise. Thanks!
