Flow running twice

Ive got a flow that imports rows from an excel doc into a sharepoint list when a new xls file is uploaded into a ondrive document library. The flow is working as expected but runs runs twice for each document. Has anyone else had this problem?

Re: Flow running twice

Hi @DuaneBergh,

If you use "When a file is created (metadata only)" trigger, you should fill File name field with Id content of the trigger in "Get rows" action. Please take a try with the following configuration:22.JPG

Re: Flow running twice

Hi @DuaneBergh,

Could you please share a screenshot of your flow’s configuration?
Is the new excel file uploaded into OneDrive document library?

I have made a test on my side and don't have the issue that you mentioned. Please take a try with the following workaround:19.JPG

The flow works successfully as below:20.JPG

Please check if another file is created in your OneDrive document library when the new excel file is uploaded into OneDrive document library.

Best regards,

Kris

Re: Flow running twice

Hi,

Yes the file is upoaded to OneDrive. My flow is configured the same but uses the "When file is created" action. If I use "When a file is created (metadata only)" I dont get the option to select File identifier in the get rows action.

Re: Flow running twice

@DuaneBergh - did you get a chance to apply @v-xida-msft's suggestions to adjust your Flow?

If yes and you are satisfied with that as a solution, please go ahead and mark this as solved. Smiley Happy

Re: Flow running twice

There is another possible cause of a flow running twice in this scenario ("excel doc into a sharepoint list when a new xls file is uploaded into a ondrive document library").  The scenario requires defining a table in the Excel doc.  If, inadvertently, one or more rows are left outside the defined table, Flow's behavior will be to run twice over the total set of rows (in and outside the table space).  This occurred for a two row test Excel document in which one row was in, the other outside of, the table.  I didn't do any further experiments with other combinations of rows in and outside of the table.
