change the status of an approval made to inactive

Hello, how can I inactivate an approval I just made

What identifier should I configure to indicate

that the status column of the Approval Request entity be updated
when I approve or reject

since in the Approval Request entity

The status column is always active.

Even if it has been approved or rejected

Hi @octaking

To get the details of the Apprval record from the CDS, you can use the approval name to identify the record:

Hope this Helps!

Re: change the status of an approval made to inactive

Hi @yashag2255

In the following way, can I put "Status Reason" in idle in the approval that was made in the new register?

Re: change the status of an approval made to inactive

Hi @yashag2255

I have 2 data sources

The first is Approvals and the
second approval applicant

When a record is created in Approvals, it is copied to the applicant for approval.

that's the relationship they have

What I want to do is that when that approval is completed, the column (Status) of the approval request changes to Inactive since it always remains active

How I do this?

Re: change the status of an approval made to inactive

Hi @octaking

Can you please share some details on the scenario that you are trying to build?

Note: Once you create the approval using the Start and Wait for an Approval, a record is created in CDS and the status (statecode) is Active along with a Pending Status (statuscode). Now when the approval is approved or rejected, this record is updated as status inactive (statecode) and staus completed (statuscode). It might take some time for this to be updated but it is automatically done.

Hope this Helps!

Re: change the status of an approval made to inactive

Hi @yashag2255

exactly that statuscode is the one that I want to update in Approval request since it always stays active and I want it to be inactive when it is approved or rejected,

The following image shows an error, but you can understand what I want to do if you look at the flow.

Re: change the status of an approval made to inactive

Hi @yashag2255

Even if I have already approved a request, the status of the data source APPROVAL REQUEST always remains ACTIVE, that is my problem that this status column no automatically updated

Re: change the status of an approval made to inactive

Hi @octaking ,

Please add a Condition under the Start an wait for an approval action to acheck if the request is approved, and inside the If yes and if else branch of the condition, you could set the different Status Reason Value for the record.

Re: change the status of an approval made to inactive

Hi @octaking

I just made a test on my side and I was able to see all the approvals records that I have created so far and I can see that only the Approvals that are pending are in active state and the rest are inactive (the ones either approved or rejected).

I would suggest you to allow a couple of minutes to get the record status and if you still want to force deactivate the account, you can simply do the get record action as I have shown in the previous responses and then add an action to update that record and provide relevant values to update the record and over there change the status to inactive.

I would still recommend not doing the force deactivation though. You might want to wait and check after sometime after the approval has been responded to.

Hope this Helps!

Re: change the status of an approval made to inactive

Hi @yashag2255

Thank you very much for answering this is from the called data source (APPROVALS) there is no problem with the state, where the problem of active state is found is in the called source (APPROVALS RQUEST)

Re: change the status of an approval made to inactive

Hi @yashag2255  @v-alzhan-msft

Maybe you can help me in the following way I am new to this

you will see in the first image what I want to show in a gallery of powerapps are the pending APPROVAL RQUEST

download (6).png

in the second image is the filter of what I just showed you in the first image as you can see is the source (Approvals) that has a relationship with (Request for approvals) and this is how the indicator shows me the approvals Request where the Approval status is Active

If you helped me to replicate what is in the second image through a formula my big problem would be solved
