Adding or Updating custom entities in Common Data Service - only Fields set to Text type working

I made a simple model based on the data sent via an API query that produced JSON.


The data returned is a UID (Number/Integer)

name (text)

visibility (text)

count (number/integer)


When using CDS Create a New Record and Add Dynamic Content a match would only be offered for Text type fields not Number or Integer.


This seems very limiting!

I create a flow to test this issue with another trigger. The flow is triggered by “SharePoint - When an item is created”, followed by the action “CDS – create a new record”.

In SharePoint list, I have a Number column. In the Custom entity, I create two fields, the Data type of the two fields are Integer and Number.

When creating the flow, I found that I can only select Number for Number field from dynamic content, for Integer field, only “ID” can be selected from the dynamic content.



What are the column types in your custom entity? Please make sure you are having the matched column types with the Custom API query.

I did experiment with different field types - in fact, to get the 'add dynamic content' pop-up to show all four fields, particularly for the id and count fields, I had to set them to type 'text' in the custom entity in CDS

I found the highlighted fields were hidden to the Flow id and count fields unless they are set as text fields as a destination.
