Approval Column not Showing up in Dynamic Content

Hi All,

Hopefully someone can help me with an issue I'm having.

I am automating a weekly report that genrates a csv in my onedrive file from list items in my sharepoint.

The only issue is that I cannot select the Approval Column while building a Flow.

The whole point of the flow is to send a file of all the overtime requests and whether the overtime was approved is critical.

So my question is: How can I get the Approval Column to show up?

Thank you in Advance!flow 3.PNG

Hi @DMcCann198 ,

About the workaround using a Choice column instead of enabling Approval status.

Here is a SharePoint list I’ve created.

Then in the flow, we could use Status value to check if an item has been approved or not.

The flow could be configured likes below.

Hi @DMcCann198 ,

What’s the column type of Approval Status?

I guess that you’ve enabled Content approval of the list.

If yes, I am afraid that it is not possible to use this column in flow, it has not been supported currently. If you need this feature, please submit a request on Flow Ideas Forum:

By the way, a temporary workaround for this issue is to create a column of type Choice with selections Approved and Rejected. Then we could use this column as dynamic content in the following actions.

Please take a try with it on your side.

Best regards,

Mabel

Hi Mabel,

Thank you for replying, can you please explain your possible work around further? If I made a new choice column how can i get the flow to update the choice?

Thanks in advance!

Here are some screenshots of my attempted fix. The problem is that it is updating every entry in the Approval column with the Approve or Unapprove value fo the latest run. This is of course a problem as I need just the last entry to be updated, not every single one.
