Approval required - multiple approvers

I have used a template to generate email for approval when new item added to list. Then used 'switch' condition for three different approvers depending upon type of list entry. The process only works for the first case. The other two scenarios fail and generate the error message below. Don't understand why - the cases have all been set up the same.

'InvalidApprovalSubscribeRequestAssignedToMissing': Error Message: 'Required field' 'assignedTo' is missing or empty.'.

Re: Approval required - multiple approvers

Hi @Anonymous,

Could you please show a bit more about your "Start an approval" action?

It is possible to have multiple approvers in "Start an approval" action.

Within case 3, do you want anyone of Person A and Person B to make a response to the request?

Or both of Person A and Person B must make a response to the request?

If you want anyone of Person A and Person B to make a response to the approval request, please take a try with the following workaround:2.JPG

If you want both of Person A and Person B to make a response to the approval request, please take a try with the following workaround:3.JPG

Best regards,

Kris

Re: Approval required - multiple approvers

Hi @S_E_B,

Could you please share a screenshot of your flow’s configuration?
The error message told that there is something wrong with “Assigned to” field in “Start an approval” action. Please check if you have filled proper value in “Assigned to” field of “Start an approval” action of the other two scenarios.

I have made a test on my side and the flow works well. Please take a try with the following workaround:3.JPG

The flow works successfully as below:4.JPG

Hello Kris and thanks for the response. You are doing your different. I will test your way and hopefully it will work. Out of interest, looking at our flow - we are still keen to understand why ours did not work. Should it work? Would it never work? Is there a way to modify to make it work?

Also, the objective is that case 1 emails person A, case 2 emails person B and case 3 emails person A and B. is it possible to have multiple people? It did not look like it to us, so we were going to set up a distribution list for person A and B and put that in the case 3 scenario.

Thanks again for your assistance in understanding this better.

regards

S.E.B

Re: Approval required - multiple approvers

Hi @v-xida-msft ,

I have a similar issue, been searching the forum for answers and this thread seems pretty close!

I've built a timesheet document in Excel and I need the approvals to go to different people based on the values entered.
£0 - £250, it needs to go to just 1 approver (Supervisor)
£250-£500 = 2 approvers (Supervisor first, if they approve then it needs to go to the Manager to also approve)
£500+ = 3 approvers (Supervisor, if approved then to Manager, if approved then onto the CEO to also approve)
I have this all set up in my Excel sheet so if the value is £600 for example, there are 3 email addresses linked to this who all need to approve. I'm just trying to get them to flow in the correct order and only move onto the next approver once the previous one has approved.

Is this possible?
