Hi,
I just need confirmation if this can be done or not with Flow.
I want a workflow to trigger automatically an approval workflow when a user publishes an item as a major version. And when the item is apporved it will set the correct status so the item is visible for all to see.
thanks for any help I can get
regards
Martin
Hi @icimasa,
Do you mean that you want to trigger a flow by using SharePoint workflow? Or it is a trigger in Microsoft Flow?
What do you mean by “publish an item as a major version”? Are you working with SharePoint list?
You said that “when the item is approved it will set the correct status to the item”, do you mean that you want to update the approve status to the list?
Besides, I have seen an idea on Flow Ideas Forum about Allow to check in, check out and publish files in a SharePoint library. About your scenario, do you want to check in so that the item will be published?
Please share more details on your scenario for better understanding.
Best regards,

hi @v-yamao-msft,
I was thinking of using just Flow.
I'm working with a Sharepoint Document Library, and we are using require content approval on the library with minor and major version.
So I think for a document management system this is basic bahaviour if you are using content approval. A user is working on a document in draft, only the user and approver can see the draft document. When the user is satisfied with the document he/she will check in the document as a major version. And Approval Flow is triggerd automatically sending an email to the manager/approval user and if the manager/approval user approves the document it is automatically published and visible by all in the library.
is this possible with flow or do we need to look into 3rd party solutions?
best regards
Martin
