Approver permissions for Sharepoint Items (Approval workflow)

Hi,

I've set up an approval workflow for newly created items in a SharePoint List. Now I'm wondering about how to manage access to the site for the approvers.

The approvers should not be able to see all the items in the list, as some of them are from other areas in the company. However, obviously the approvers need to review specifically the new SharePoint item that they have been asked to approve.

How can I handle this in flow? Will the link to the item work even for an approver who does not have general access to the list?

For example, I can set permissions, so that people can only see the items they created. This is fine for the requesters, but it does not impact the approvers.

Best regards,

Eric

Hi!

"Now I'm wondering about how to manage access to the site for the approvers.

So I assume Approvers do not have by default permissions to the list, you wanna assign permission per item to be approved, right?

If so, then you can use 'Grant access to an item or a folder" action block. More info here:

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/connectors/sharepointonline/#grant-access-to-an-item-or-a-folder

Hope this helps

Hi @efialttes !

Thanks a lot. That's exactly the action I had been looking for. Except I though it could be "give" or "share permissions". "Grant" is a nice word, too.

Cheers,

Eric
