Bug in flows when changing Single Line Column to Choice Column (sharepoint lists)

When I want to fill Sharepoint ListNr2 with Sharepoint ListNr1  .... and change a single line Column (in Listnr2) to a Choice Column the Flow recognizes this and replaces the old "Column name" to "Column name Value"... But when I fill in the value of this field (in the action of actually filling the field)... it will not Save.... it says that it has saved, but when returning to the Flow, the Choice field is always blank.

Re: Bug in flows when changing Single Line Column to Choice Column (sharepoint lists)

Hi @Erdem,

I can reproduce this issue on my side. It seems that when the column type is changed after the flow has been created, though the flow can detect the change, the value cannot be saved to the changed column, it will be always blank.

Per my test, recreate the flow would solve the problem temporarily. I will help report it on my side and back to you later.

Best regards,

Mabel Mao

Re: Bug in flows when changing Single Line Column to Choice Column (sharepoint lists)

Thanks for your confirmation.

Not to load you guys with problems but .....

A related problem occurs when deleting columns. The flow also gets visually updated to remove the deleted column but even after saving changes, it will complain that it still expects the deleted column once executing (and trying to fill the list)....

In my opinion there seems to be a general updating problem for actions inside flows (atleast regarding to sharepoint lists)....

Even when retargetting an existing action towards another list (ex. instead of updating listNr2, now update listNr3), the action visually gets updated inside the flow, but still, when executing... it fails because it expects different columns......

If I have the time, I'll make some reproduction steps...

----

Obviously you could say that you don't support "deleting columns, changing columns, or retargetting an action to another List", but in this case you should also NOT update the flows visually... as users we are being tricked in to believing that this should work...

Thanks again!
