Can I use something like variables in Power Automate?

I want to do below.
When someone edited file on SharePoint, the editor recieve chat message with E-mail link from Teams.
I used [mailto:] about E-mail link part.
For example: (mailto:kazuhito@abc.jp&subject=test)
After that, the editor have to write change point of edit to person in charge from the E-mail link.
I want to ask about E-mail link part.
Currently, E-mail address of person in charge is fixed.(kazuhito@abc.jp)
I want to dynamically change the e-mail address of the person in charge.
Is it possible to secure something like a variable in advance, enter the address of the person in charge that changes dynamically in that variable, and embed it in a E-mail address location?
Any other method is fine.
Could you please let me know if you have any information?

Hi @Kazuhito,

Yes, that is possible, via various means,
You could possibly create a variable in powerautomate, By using initialize Variable: Var,
Define it as your email value, and plug that into the email address location,
Alternatively, You could also have a spreadsheet where you update the email address, and have powerautomate pick up that value from the spreadsheet, e.g. using a list rows action, and then extract the dynamic content of the email, and paste it into the email address location. The same process can be done if the mail is defined in a sharepoint list as well.

You can use any of the options I mentioned to achieve your request, the advantage of the excel option is, You may just have to update your spreadsheet outside the flow environment, and the flow would be updated, If you use the variable approach, you may have to go into the flow on occasions you need to redefine the mail, and change it there.

Kindly feel free to like my post and mark it as a solution to aid others in the community.

Dear Joseph_Fadero,

Thanks for your reply.
Probably, I will select the method using spreadsheet.
In that case, how to get columns value of spreadsheet?
Should I use Office Script?
Also, please teach me how to embed E-mail address in the Email address location.
In case of editor's name, I wrote like this(@{triggerBody()?['Editor']?['DisplayName']}) in the editor's name location.

I look forward to hearing from you and anyone.

Thank you.

Kazuhito.

Dear all,

I was able to solve it myself with some help.
I used SharePoint, Variable,Excel Online(Business), and Office 365 Outlook.
----------
First, setting trigger.(SharePoint)
Second, initializing variable.
Third, getting value from Excel by key.
Fourth, setting the value to the variable.
Fifth, setting link(E-mail address) of Teams by the variable.
----------
That is all.

Thank you,
Kazuhito.

Oh that's good, I am glad I was able to help. Thank you for accepting the response as a solution

Dear all,

I was able to get a value from Excel table.
Additionally, I want to get value of table column from Excel.(Probably, between 10 to 20 rows)
After that, I will use the value as E-mail address.
What should I use? Also, how to do it?
Could you please give me some information about that.

Thank you,

Kazuhito
