Convert Powerpoint (pptx) to Image Files (jpg or png) on Sharepoint

Hello!

I need to complete a project that requires automatically splitting a pptx into multiple image files. I have a flow working where I can convert a file into a pdf as an intermediate step, and I can split the pdf into little pdfs that contain each slide. I'm also using third party apps for this purpose (the conversion and splitting step), and ideally we wouldn't want to use them (we want to keep only the Microsoft services in Flow). Is there any other way to achieve the flow we're looking for?

Ideally, we would like the flow to resemble something like this:

But this is what we have so far (and it doesn't convert to images, only pdf):

Thank you!

Re: Convert Powerpoint (pptx) to Image Files (jpg or png) on Sharepoint

Hi @Anonymous ,

As far as I know, Convert file action contained in OneDrive connector is not able to convert files into images.

You could try to implement the requirements using the following methods, but we still need to use a third-party service.

  • First convert the pptx file to a PDF file using Convert file action, then convert the PDF to Image using Convert PDF to Image action provided in Plumsail connector.
  • We need to add the file name ourselves, you could use the variable increment method to configure the file name.
  • In addition, we need to use base64ToBinary() function to convert the File content to the required format.

Expression reference:

base64ToBinary(items('Apply_to_each'))

Hope it helps.
