Copy specific file name from Box to another Box folder

Hello,

I need to copy a specific file from one folder to another on Box (Box.com) every Friday. The file name remains the same every week. There are a list of 10 files in the source folder, but I only need the 1 file with the specific file name. I can't seem to figure out the right FILE NAME critiera to get the Flow to run appropriately. Any examples to share?

Thanks!

Hi,

I just had a quick try and I assume that you are tying to use the Copy File Action within the Box.com set and are struggling to get the right source and destination values to put into the action because they are free text?

One way around this is to use another action first that will give you the right source URL. You can then use this to either hard code your source reference (as it’s always the same) or just use the dynamic element in the source and formulate, manually or with and expression, the destination.

I used the Get file metadata using path Action which let me choose the file I was interested in, then wrote the Path property to a compose so I could see how it was formatted (it’s a relative url to the file such as ‘/Collab 365 - Flow Virtual Summit.pptx’

I then know that the destination url would be ‘/Archive/Collab 365 - Flow Virtual Summit.pptx’

Hope this helps

Hi @mgre24 ,

Could you provide the specific details of the specified file name? What conditions does it need to meet?

Basically we could use the following configuration to copy files:

46.PNG

You could use the criteria provided in Condition to filter the file, or click Add to add multiple restrictions.

Please provide more details and we would provide proper workaround for you.

Thanks, @MarkStokes! This worked great. How could I set it up so the flow is automated at a specific time every Friday since your example it set up as a manual flow trigger?

Yes, where I have a manaual trigger you can use a Schedule trigger. That will let you choose the frequency... so weekly and on what days and hour(s) you want to to run.
