Creating Teams Channels and messages.

The scenario.

I have 10 teams, no more no less.  All teams are pre-created.  We have a powerapp that we have set global variables to various items such as group name, team identity, team guid, team name, etc.

The powerapp allows us to create channels, send adaptive cards (messages) to various channels, etc.  The powerapp references your department and uses a condition within flow to be able to determine which team/channels to send to using the variables within teams.  Long story short, it the flow uses the variables within teams to determine which team and channel to communicate to.

My question,

Is this best practice?  My flow is quite simply, goes straight from powerapps to a condition that verifies your department, and finally based upon this value it will select the appropriate team/channels which come from the powerapps variables.  For all this to work we obviously are hardcoding or managing the teams guids within powerapp variables.  While this seems to work fine I question how would one do this if you have many teams versus only 10.  This does not seem like a very good way to manage as more teams are onboarded.  So, basically, I am looking for a more elegant way to design this where we are not hardcoding team guids upstream, etc.  I was thinking possibly this can be done using the list teams and list channels actions?  Any direction or examples on this is much appreciated.

The CreateChannel (Ask in Powerapps) seen below are referencing the teams guid variables mentioned above.

Hi @Dudditz,

You can create a SharePoint list to store Group name, Team identity, Team guid, Team name, etc.Annotation 2019-09-11 105031.png

Then use the create Get items to find the team GUID whether exist in the list

-If exists, the length of the return value will not equal to 0;

-If not exists, the length of the return value will equal 0.

Then, you can according to the result to decide how to send the message to team channel.

In this way, if there is a new team to join, it is more convenient to manage and add, delete, modified, and check.
