Custom Connectors & Flows in Solutions problem

I've been struggling with importing a solution with custom connectors and having flows based on the custom connectors work in the new environment. Looking for suggestions on how to get this working properly. I can get the solution to import to the new environment, but all flows associated with the custom connectors are turned off and show this error when trying to turn them back on:

Here's what I have tried so far:

  1. Exporting and then importing as a managed solution
  2. Exporting and then importing as an unmanaged solution
  3. Removing the custom connectors from the solution (without removing the connection references), exporting it as unmanaged, manually create the custom connectors in target environment, and then import the unmanaged solution

On import, I am carefully checking the 'connection reference to connection' mapping and that appears to be working properly. All non-custom connectors (Outlook, Teams, OneDrive) associated with this solution are working correctly after import.

I found reports online of issues with solutions and custom connectors and thought #3 above was the workaround, but it still isn't. Any more ideas from the Community?

Thanks in advance!

Hello @BCLS776 - were you able to find a workaround or other solution for this issue? I am having the same exact problem. I have a custom connector in my solution for Workspace One which uses a barcode scan in my app to get device information. When I go to import this solution as an unmanaged solution in my dev environment, all the regular connection references are recognized but my custom connection reference throws an error. I added the custom connector into the solution separately and have edited the connection reference:

But I can't seem to get the connection reference to work no matter which connection I try to use when I go to import the solution into the new environment as managed:

I only have the option to click "New Connection" and the minute I do that, it opens a new window in Power Apps Connections with the following error: The only buttons that work on this page is to "Cancel" or close the window, but I can't fix the issue.

Can anyone help me understand why this is happening and how to fix it? Are there any workarounds? I thought of taking this connection out of the solution and creating it new in the prod environment, but then I get dependency errors since the flow using the custom connection reference is triggered from a button in my Power App.

Best,

Kendra

Hi Kendra, unfortunately I have not found a workaround for this one yet. I do hope Microsoft will fix this important gap in the overall solution experience.
