Downloading and getting data from .csv files in Dataverse

I have a dataverse table which has a .csv attachment on every row, and I want to take the data from each of the .csv's, split the data out and add it all to a new table in dataverse.

When I add in the "download a file or image" dataverse connector, the connector returns an object that looks like so:

{
"$content-type": "application/octet-stream",
"$content": "...long string of letters and numbers"
}

Is there a way of telling Power Automate that it's looking at a .csv file? I think I have a clunky workaround in that I create a new .csv file in OneDrive using the content that it downloads from dataverse and then do what I need to do from that, but it seems a bit silly that I've got to download the content, make a new file and then read from that file, when I should just be able to parse the data that is originally downloaded.

Am I missing something here?

Hi there,

There is an easier way, yep!

Create a "Compose" action and cram this expression into it:

base64ToString(body('download_a_file_or_image')['$content'])

That'll bring back a nice CSV-esque looking chunk of text for you.

Cheers,
