I have a workflow integrated with a sharepoint list to allow requests for leave approval.
In the assigned to column of the approval request, I have placed the dynamic content 'Manager Name' which relates to the 'Manager Name' column in the sharepoint list.
This works fine when I put myself as the manager. However, when somebody else from the team is the manager, the approval email fails to send. There is no error message.
Does anyone know why this might be?
There are no hidden expressions as far as I am aware. The only problem is that approval emails do not send to other recipients aside from myself, therefore when the system goes live, I am worried that managers may not see the requests.
It reads to me that you need to add additional email addresses in your "Assigned to field"
You may also need to look at changing the approval type too but instead of telling you what to do directly, please look at Melissa's blog and also at this forum post.
Any issues, please message back.
If this is the case, why does it send an approval request notification to me if I test it, but not to anyone else?
By nothing appearing, can you specify what you mean? In the sharepoint list, the value for Manager Name is 'Person or Group'. Does this need to be something different?
