Extracting email address from name in Microsoft Form

Hi there,

I am fairly new to Power Automate and I am seeking some help.

I created a Microsoft Form, and one of the field allows the respondent to select a manager. In theory, the form should be sent to the manager for approval prior to put into the Sharepoint List.

I tried to use Get User Profile (V2) but it is not working as the field is requesting email, not name. (see snippet below)

Is there any possible way to get extract the email? I notice Search for Users (V2) could return email address but I am not terrible sure.

Many thanks in advance.

@werdnak

If you using name in MS form try with Search for users(V2) action. Supply input as name from Get form details dynamic content.

Then use compose and pass dynamic content Email from Search for users. it will give you email.

Thanks

Re: Extracting email address from name in Microsoft Form

Hi @Hardesh15 ,

I jumped the gun a little. I tried the following but it is returning [XXX@me.com] to Assigned to. How do I get rid of the bracket?

Use This in compose

1. Last(split(outputs('Compose'),'['))

2. split(outputs('Compose'),']')

mind the brackets.

Thanks
