Failed at first attempt to create a flow

Not sure which discussion group to ask but here goes:

I am trying to run a simple flow.  When a file is uploaded to a particular folder, email that person.

I thought I had this figured out. Not so. I get an "Invalid Template" and the flow fails. Please help.

(I am trying to attempt to upload the screenshots of the flow and error message. Not sure if it will come through)

Re: Failed at first attempt to create a flow

@Lori_D-

When I use the template that you reference, I see an error as well.

My suggestion is to edit the Flow and remove the Mail action.  Then add an Office 365 Outlook Send Email action.  Add your email address and any other data you want in the email.

If you take the steps I outlined above, the Flow should run without error.

I will report this as a possible bug.

Re: Failed at first attempt to create a flow

@Lori_D:

Can you tell me the exact name of the template you are using?  I will create a Flow based on that template and test.

I created a Flow using the "Send a customized email when a new file is added" template and configured it to run only when items are added to a specific folder and it ran successfully.

I suspect that creating the Flow only took you a minute or so.  You might try deleting or disabling your current Flow and create a new one and see it it works.

Re: Failed at first attempt to create a flow

The template I used was

"Send an email when a new file is added to OneDrive for Business"

I will try the one you used when I get back from my meeting.

Thanks!

Re: Failed at first attempt to create a flow

I tried the custom template but can't get past the first box.

Our county uses SharePoint and Onedrive.

Do I need to "share" the folder with the person first?

When I tried to create it, I went into the folder and copied the site address and it asked for a SharePoint library name. I am not sure what this means. Also, the next box (I'm thinking?) asks for permission?

Is this even do-able?

Thanks for your help !!!!

It worked!

I used the template " Send email when a new file is added to OneDrive for Business"

it worked!  (it successfully went to an outside email address. I haven't heard back from the internal email address but I'm sure if it worked for the other it should work internally)

Thank you so much !!!!!!
