File Identifier seems to be incorrect

I am writing a Flow (first one) which is triggered when a file is added to a SharePoint library.  An approval flow runs and if the file is approved it is copied to a different SP library and removed from the original library.  The file is uploaded to a library named White Paper Approval and copied to a different library named White Papers in the same site.  I am using When a file is created (properties only) as a trigger and when I look at the identifier in the trigger is appears to be incorrect.  This is the Identifier in the trigger:  White%2bPapers%252fDirtyRice.pdf.  I would have expected it to be White%2bPaper%2bApproval%252fDirtyRice.docx since the file is uploaded to the White Paper Approval library, and the White Papers library is not referenced in the flow for several steps.

1) How is the identifier created?

2) Why would the identifier have the name of the target library?  How did it get the target library name?

3) Is there a limit to the number of words or characters a library can be named for use in Flow.

Thanks!

Hi @Anonymous ,

Could you share a screenshot of your flow?

I have created a flow likes below according to your description. However, the issue you mentioned could not be reproduced.

The original library name is White Pater Approval, the destination library name is MabelLibrary1.

The return result of identifier of the trigger is correct.

Please check the following configuration and run details for a reference.

1.PNG2.PNG

About question 2, please show me a screenshot of your flow configuration. If you are using the dynamic content from the trigger, it should return the correct identifier of the trigger.

About question 3, as far as I know, SharePoint names must initially be less than 32 characters (and should contain no special characters).

Best regards,

Mabel

Here is the trigger in the flow.

Flow1.png

Here is the result when the flow runs.

Flow2.pngI believe what happened is the original name for the library was White Papers, and the URL matched with "...White%20Papers...".  Then the name got changed to White Paper Approval.  However, The URL stayed the same.  Then a new library was created called White Papers and the url is ".../White%20Papers1".  All of this is to say the Identifier is based on the original name of the library and not necessarily the current name of the library.

To prove this I created a document library TestLib01 and the URL is "/sites/Support/SUP/Development/TestLib01/Forms/AllItems.aspx".  Then I changed the name to NewDoc and the URL stayed the same.

Thanks Mabel for getting me the answers to my questions.

I have at least one of the answers.

1) How is the identifier created? - It seems to pull this from the URL.  I am now realizing the name of the library must have gotten changed sometime before I joined the project but the URL did not change.  I never noticed this in the past.

I would still like to know the answers to the other questions.

Thanks

K
