Flow doesnt update column values

I have a list where i made a multi text line. it has enablet RTF and append changes.

Column is called Projekt Fremdrift. Here is the Column settings.

I have another Columt called Senest Status. This column is also a Multiline column that has RTF turned on.

What i wanted Flow to do was take the value of Projekt fremdrift and show it in Senest status.

I taught this would be a pretty straightforward simple Flow with "Update Item" functionality... I was wrong!!

Here is my Flow

This works ok... Sometimes... Sometimes it updates one item, sometimes it updates all items and sometimes it removes the value on one item but adds it on the "current" item that I just updated.

I feel that Im missing a very important logic somwhere in the flow.

The only thing I want is to write the newest value from my Projekt Fremdrift column over to my Senest Status column.

I dont want any other items in the list to do anything and i dont want any old values in items im not working on to start writing to the Senest Status.  Also important fact. I just want to run this flow if the data in Projekt Fremdrift has been altered. It shouldnt run if something else has been modified. HELP!

Hi @Anonymous ,

There is no any way to trigger a flow only when a special column value is updated in an item, the function to trigger a flow for a special column is not supported in microsoft flow currently.

Also if you create a flow with trigger "When an item is created or modified" and an action "Update item", the flow would run into a loop when an item is modified since the "Update item" action would result in the flow to be triggered again.

Best regards,

hmmm....

I mean this is just basic, basic stuff!!

WHY cant the "new kid on the block" do a simple thing SPD could do for years.

I need a Flow to "trigger" when a line items value gets updated. I dont care about the whole column.

I have 2 columns and I want the newest text from column 1 to overwrite the text in column 2.

BUT!! I am not at all interrested in Flow itterating al the other items in the column.

Example:

Column 1 item is blue

I need Flow to write this to my column 2 on the item only.

I then write Red in Column 1. ( This will ofc be saved as I have chosen that the column upends everything so my history will remain.)
I am expecting Column 2 to have the value of blue overwritten by "Red".

If I have chosen a wrong Flow then I will be happy to try with another type. Maybe i just need to make a flow that starts when an item gets updated and skip the part of "Create item".
