Flow to generate auto-reply email for after hours

Hi I'm brand new to Flow - and the first task I need to address is automating an auto-reply email to customers who contact me after hours.  I work 7-3:30pm M-F, so I want the email to reply anytime outside of those hours.

 

Has anyone done something like this?   If so - can you share your formula for success?

Please follow these steps to build your flow 

first you have to trigger your flow on Email arrival than you have to get your start time and End time and Compare it with received time , please See the images below;

Now you have to Get Compose Start and End Date for comparison

Formula for Compose 2

formatDateTime(body('Add_to_time'),'MM/dd/yyyy')

Formula for Start Time 

concat(outputs('Compose_2'),' 7:00:00')

Formula for  End Time 

concat(body('Convert_time_zone'),' 15:30:00')

Formula for Format End Time

formatDateTime(outputs('End_Time'),'MM-dd-yyyy HH:mm:ss')

Formula for Start Time

formatDateTime(outputs('Start_Time'),'MM-dd-yyyy HH:mm:ss')

Now you have to change received time

formatDateTime(body('Convert_time_zone_2'),'MM-dd-yyyy HH:mm:ss')

now just add delay action for an hour and send email

Now Your Email runs when new Email is arrived and send Mail when your working hours will over.

This is awesome, thank you!

I just followed the steps above and this is not working for me. No matter the time or day the condition is false.  Any help would be appreciated.

This is almost exactly what I need!

 

Does anyone know how I would go about adding a in a check for the weekend to always send?

@williamg , kindly check your conditions your condition are false because your first expression is false like "03-20-2020 17:00:00 is greater than 09-20-2020 17:00:00"  which is false and you used AND clause that why if any of one expression is false your output will be false. kindly use OR statement instead of AND or use according to your need.

@Mike714 , add condition or use switch statement for check weekend days like formatdatetime(timestamp, 'dddd') in this way you get current day, so you can easily compare that if current day is Saturday or Sunday , it should be weekend 🙂

That works for daily after hours. Any chance you can show us how to do all day Saturday and Sunday? We are a school IT department and do not work on weekends. Thanks!

@Robertsa , yes you can schedule your flow on weekends or weekdays, you just have to select frequency week. Moreover you add condition for days. like you can use compose action and use formula 

formatDateTime(utcNow(),"dddd")

this formula return Current day i.e Monday,Saturday etc. So now you can easily add condition to check whether its Saturday/Sunday or not, else you can use schedule flow.

I followed the above steps, I am getting auto reply every one hour regardless of my off working hours.

Do I need to change something. I would like to send OOO response only after my working hours i,e; between 18PM to9AM IST. Do I need to remove 1 hour delay?

We invite you to participate in a quest to provide solutions to as many questions as you can. Answers can be provided in all the communities.    Entry Period: This Challenge will consist of four weekly Entry Periods as follows (each an “Entry Period”)   - 12:00 a.m. PT on June 17, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on June 23, 2024 - 12:00 a.m. PT on June 24, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on June 30, 2024 - 12:00 a.m. PT on July 1, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on July 7, 2024 - 12:00 a.m. PT on July 8, 2024 – 11:59 p.m. PT on July 14, 2024   Entries will be eligible for the Entry Period in which they are received and will not carryover to subsequent weekly entry periods.  You must enter into each weekly Entry Period separately.   How to Enter: We invite you to participate in a quest to provide "Accepted Solutions" to as many questions as you can.
