Generate Excel Dynamically using Microsoft Cloud Flow

Hi,

I have a requirement to generate an excel file with CDS data , and I need to generate the excel file dynamically without saving in share point or one drive or any other location.  Is it possible to generate excel dynamically? The tutorials I found on this excel topic,  are creating excel files in share point or one drive. But I want to create excel file dynamically and want to attach with email. Please suggest.

Hi @aishwaryab

If you are looking to create an xlsx, you will have to create the excel file somewhere, create a table and pass content to the file and get the file content before attaching it to your email and then finally deleting the original file.  There is a slight alternative to usings tables in that you can use Excel Scripts to create excel file content - a demo which you can see here https://youtu.be/Q7GLQnvJJF0.

If you are happy with a CSV, which will open in Excel but isn't an excel file, you can simply compose the file contents as rows in a plain text string.  The file content would be plain text and the file extension would be .csv.

i.e.

field1,field2,field3,field4

1,2,3,4

a,b,c,d

more,and,more,etc
